The copper is formed with an electric process. I treated the large piece with sulphur to blacken it, then scratched parts with a wire brush to create highlights. The copper is then treated with a metal gloss sealant to prevent discoloration. Discoloration may still occur over time due to oxidation, especially if scratched or worn down. Soaking in alcohol may ruin the finish. Do not microwave.
